Kikkalur is a Model Village. Number of educated & employed are highest than any village in surround, presently 250+ children going to schools outside the village (for English medium and above 8th standard), well informed people, culture & traditional values, four lakes to irrigate about 350 acres, two primary and one high schools, village politics… are some of the prime factors support this. Kikkalur demographically situated in Tiruvannamalai District, Tamilnadu, India.

The only village to get piped water supply as early as 1954. Various schemes have been tried out. Still the people are not getting the quality drinking water as of November 2017. The four roads lead connections to Kil Pennathur on South West, Avalurpet on North West, Maanandal and beyond on East and Kathalampet on South. The very first Bus route was started in 1962. Electricity power supply came in 1957. Technology is at best deployed in the village – Tele-towers of BSNL, Airtel & Vodafone and of course there are some wireless WILL Phones and over 1000 Cell Phones ringing in, and the wonder is village has Internet connection provided. Faith in god and service to humanity is best in many minds. Scores of temples include Danish Mission Church are in the village and a few of them consecrated. Thanks to all stalwarts and visionaries of Kikkalur who strive to bring about changes into the village and people.

What Kikkalur is craving for today? INFRASTRUCTURE! Yes;
1. More Bus Transport: Towards Tiruvannamalai via – Kil Pennathur and Avalurpet. There should be a BUS plying up to or via Kikkalur for every 30 minutes. A CHENNAI BOUND Bus should be operated from or routed through Kikkalur. Will the concerned transport authority and The Collector of Tiruvannamalai District at Tiruvannamalai fulfill the aspirations of school students, people at village and Employed / Working families live in various destinations in Chennai commuting often?
Improve Transport
2. Allow Share Autos to ply up to destinations like Avalurpet, Kil Pennathur, Tiiruvannamalai… as demand to travel increases constantly.
3. Plant avenue Trees: Let us see the entire village go green starting from now. Inviting the Government of Tamil Nadu pay attention to our village.
4. Good Roads to withstand passenger transport and other commercial traffic.
5. Adult Education by NGOs or Government Agencies leading to 100% literacy by 2020.
6. Affordable Broadband High Speed WI-FI Internet to be deployed which is eagerly awaited in schools in particular.
